My first experience with a Mastiff or Bullmastiff started in 1975 when I was asked to
rescue a 14 month old male Mastiff.Duke was 160 lbs and had no manners, I was
110 lbs and loved a challange. This was a thru ditches over hedges and total body
workout for about a month. Then he saw the light and decided to do things my way,
what a change in attitude. I immediately started looking for a companion for
him,within a few months Bugsy ,a female Bullmastiff,joined our household. As the
years passed I switched to Bullmastiffs only. I always had several children from
babies to teens sharing the house with the dogs and found the dogs and kids a
great combination. Large mellow dogs go well with very active children.

of Oreo, our Chihuahua puppy. Both are protected by Amber, our Bullmastiff, who thinks she
is "MOM".
